Invalides & Napoleon's Tomb
Hey guys! In this post, I'm going to talk about the Invalides and Napoleon's Tomb in the 7th Arrondisment of Paris on the Left Bank. I recommend this attraction for those who love history and architecture. You can even see the Eiffel Tower from the museum since it's not too far away either.
So Invalides means the Army Museum, which commemorates those who lost their lives and those who fought during wartime for France. It's quite interesting. This place also dedicates the death of Napoleon Bonaparte, a powerful military leader in French history being buried there in a tomb.
This is the center of the Invalides Museum. In the background you can clearly see the dome of Napoleon's Tomb.
Loved taking these kind of photos with the sky in the background and the reflective light.
This was once a famous cathedral where many aristocracy with military power married as well as masses and funerals. The only thing you could think of as you enter it is wow!
The cathedral itself is grand in many ways and upholds a certain look for its former aristocracy.
Loved this cathedral instrument, used during any religious activity.
This is the incredible dome artwork of Napoleon's Tomb. It reminded me a lot of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican because of its similar detail with art. To the more you look up, the better it is. A marvelous masterpiece to the eyes!
Looking across to the alter.
Every square inch of this alter looks amazing. You can tell everything is meant to captivate the senses.
Down below lies the actual burial place of Napoleon Bonaparte. Surrounding it are statues and ornate mosaic artwork. It was fascinating to see the actual spot where he was buried.
This is truly a must see landmark if you ever happen to be in Paris.
Until next time...
